Port Qasim sees fresh fuel shipments

March 10, 2026 (MLN): Several fuel tankers carrying petrol and gas oil have arrived at Port Qasim, easing concerns of an immediate fuel shortage in Pakistan amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

The tanker MT Nave Atropos reached the port on March 9, delivering 50,000 metric tons of petrol, while MT Torm Daminia, carrying 37,000 metric tons of gas oil, has anchored at the FOTCO terminal.

Additional shipments are on schedule, with MT Sapphir II, carrying 55,000 metric tons of petrol, expected to berth on March 10, followed by MT Sea Clipper, bringing 34,000 metric tons, on March 11, according to the press release.

Port authorities confirmed that at least one vessel arrived from Fujairah, UAE, and more tankers are expected in the coming days to maintain uninterrupted fuel supply across the country.

The timely arrival of these shipments provides relief to both the government and consumers, ensuring stability in fuel availability despite regional uncertainties.
