October 14, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan's Tech Destination Pavilion opened its doors today at GITEX Global 2025, reinforcing the nation's position as an emerging global technology powerhouse.
The prestigious event marks Pakistan's continued
commitment to digital innovation and international tech partnerships.
Federal Minister for IT & Telecom Shaza Fatima
Khawaja led the inauguration ceremony, joined by prominent government officials
and industry leaders.
The distinguished attendees included Rana Ihsaan Afzal
Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Commerce, Ambassador Faisal Niaz
Tirmizi, Pakistan's Envoy to the UAE, and Rafique Ahmed Buriro, Additional
Secretary Ministry of IT & Telecom and CEO of Ignite.
Also present at the ceremony were H.E. Hussain Muhammad,
Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai, Brigadier Syed Nadir Hussain Shah from the
Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), and Abu Bakar, CEO of Pakistan
Software Export Board (PSEB).
The inauguration was further attended by Faisal Ratyal,
CEO of National Information Technology Board (NITB), Syed Sajjad, Chairman
P@SHA and Ali Zeb Khan, Trade & Investment Counsellor.
The ceremony attracted significant attention from
international investors, industry leaders, and global media representatives,
underscoring Pakistan's growing importance in the global technology landscape.
Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja emphasized Pakistan's
expanding role in the global technology sector, stating: "Pakistan's
presence at GITEX Global shows our confidence, our capability and our
commitment to a digitally empowered future under the leadership of Prime
Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Vision of Digital Nation Pakistan."
She added, "With a young, skilled workforce and an
expanding base of IT exports, Pakistan is ready to play a central role in
shaping the global tech economy.
The Pakistan Pavilion represents not just our innovation
but our invitation to the world to partner in growth."
The Pakistan Tech Destination Pavilion functions as a
comprehensive platform designed to facilitate meaningful business connections
and showcase Pakistan's technological capabilities.
The pavilion hosts B2B meetings and strategic networking
sessions, providing a conducive environment for investment opportunities with
international partners and partnership statements between local and global
companies.
Visitors to the pavilion can experience start-up
showcases highlighting innovative Pakistani entrepreneurs and live
demonstrations of cutting-edge technology solutions.
The venue also features business matchmaking sessions
specifically designed to connect Pakistani tech firms with global buyers,
creating tangible opportunities for international collaboration and trade
expansion.
The Ministry of IT & Telecom is facilitating the
participation of 10 promising Pakistani start-ups at GITEX Dubai, providing
them with a global platform to attract investment and forge international
partnerships.
This initiative demonstrates the government's dedication
to nurturing innovation and accelerating start-up growth.
Following Pakistan's recognition as "Tech
Destination of the Year" at GITEX Global 2024, this year's participation
has reached unprecedented levels.
A total of 100 leading Pakistani tech companies are
participating in the event, including 26 companies under the PSEB/TDAP
umbrella.
The delegation is further strengthened by the presence of
1,000 C-level delegates representing Pakistan's technology sector,
demonstrating the depth and breadth of the country's tech industry leadership.
Pakistan's information technology sector has experienced
remarkable growth in recent years, with IT exports continuing to expand and the
country's young, skilled workforce increasingly recognized by international
markets.
The government's Vision of Digital Nation Pakistan
initiative aims to further accelerate this momentum through policy reforms,
infrastructure development, and international collaboration.
GITEX Global is one of the world's largest technology and
