Pakistan’s consumer confidence rises past 36 points in June 2026

June 16, 2026 (MLN): The Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) in Pakistan remained broadly stable at 36.1 points in June 2026, up from 35.5 points in May 2026, according to a survey report released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

Inflation expectations eased to 21.3 points in June 2026 from 23.3 points in May, while the Expected Economic Conditions Index edged up to 36.5 points from 36.1 points in May.

Households' Financial Conditions also improved, rising to 37.6 points in June from 36.4 points in May 2026.

Meanwhile, the Current Economic Conditions Index for June 2026 climbed to 35.7 points compared to 35 points in May.

The number for Expected Unemployment held steady at 73.6 points in June.

The CCI report assesses consumers' confidence about the economy as well as their personal financial situation.

The overall CCI is calculated from survey results and evaluated within a range of 0-100, indicating an optimistic outlook when the index is above 50 while showing a pessimistic attitude towards future economic situations when it is below 50.

The index reflects the 'current situation' economic changes witnessed in the last six months as well as 'future expectations' that take into account changes expected in the next six months across the country.
