February 04, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan’s exports of base-metal tools, implements and cutlery to China rose about 5% year-on-year in 2025, to reach $8.14m compared with $7.76m in 2024.

Hand tools remained the leading export category, with pliers, pincers, tweezers and similar items climbing from $2.97m in 2024 to $3.72m in 2025, according to China’s General Administration of Customs (GACC), as reported by APP.

Demand was strongest in Zhejiang Province, the largest destination, which imported about $1.78m worth of these goods under processing-with-imported-materials trade, which shows Pakistan’s growing role in China’s manufacturing supply chains.

Shanghai and Guangdong followed through both ordinary and processing trade channels.

Scissors and shears ranked second with exports of roughly $1.90m in 2025, mainly shipped to Shanghai and Zhejiang.

Safety razor blades placed third at about $1.34m, with most supplies heading to Xinjiang and Zhejiang, according to China Economic Net.

The steady rise in shipments was attributed to competitive pricing, improving quality standards, and Pakistan’s skilled metalworking workforce, adding that closer trade and manufacturing cooperation with China is likely to sustain stable growth in base-metal tool exports.
