Pakistan's OMC sales rise 2% MoM in June 2025, up 8% YoY

July 02, 2025 (MLN): The sales volume of oil marketing companies (OMCs) in Pakistan saw a significant increase of 2% month-on-month (MoM) in June 2025, reaching a total of 1.57 million tons, while the year-on-year (YoY) growth stood at 8%.

For the 12MFY25, OMC sales totaled 16.32m tons, marking a 7% YoY increase.

Product-wise Performance

Motor Spirit (MS) sales stood at 0.732m tons, showing a 5% YoY and MoM increase, marking a ~3-year high last seen in May 2022.

High-Speed Diesel (HSD) sales reached 0.618m tons, reflecting a 9% YoY growth but an 8% MoM decline due to the seasonal slowdown following the end of the harvesting season.

Furnace Oil (FO) sales came in at 0.129m tons, registering a 22% YoY and 62% MoM surge — the highest in 17 months. The rise is attributed to pre-buying ahead of the anticipated imposition of PDL from July 1, 2025.

In FY25, ex-FO sales stood at 15.05m tons, up 9% YoY, while Jun 2025 ex-FO volumes were 1.44m tons, up 7% YoY but down 1% MoM.

Company-wise Breakdown

Pakistan State Oil (PSO) remained the market leader with total sales of 0.661m tons in June 2025, with MS and HSD offtake at 0.317m tons and 0.272m tons, respectively.

PSO’s overall market share improved from 41.91% in May to 42.2% in June, driven by an increase in MS share.

Attock Petroleum Limited (APL) reported total sales of 0.132m tons. The company’s MS market share stood at 7.85%, and HSD at 8.31%, both slightly lower MoM. HSD sales dropped 20% MoM, driving the overall 4% MoM decline.

Wafi Energy (WAFI) posted sales of 0.127m tons, up 19% YoY and 3% MoM, marking a 32-month high.

Hascol Petroleum Limited (HASCOL) achieved total sales of 0.043m tons, up 15% YoY but down 19% MoM.
