July 30, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan and China moved closer on
agricultural trade as a grains B2B matchmaking session in Guangzhou brought
together 15 leading Pakistani rice exporters and Chinese agricultural
companies, with participating enterprises signing purchase order letters of
intent and reaching preliminary cooperation understandings.
The session was jointly organized by
the Consulate General of Pakistan in Guangzhou and the Guangzhou International
Cooperation Center (GICC), APP reported.
A 17-member delegation from the Rice
Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP), representing 15 major exporters, met
with Guangdong companies drawn from agricultural processing, grain and oil
trading, agri-tech, farm machinery manufacturing, cross-border e-commerce and
supply chain service.
Talks between the two sides covered
grain procurement prices, quality inspection standards, cross-border logistics,
settlement arrangements, long-term supply cooperation and private-label
processing arrangements.
Several Guangdong enterprises signed
purchase order letters of intent with members of the Pakistani delegation at
the event, a development described as concrete progress in bilateral trade
cooperation.
The session also allowed companies
from both sides to set up direct communication channels for future business.
The Pakistani delegation briefed
Chinese counterparts on the country's grain production capacity, export
structure and rice supply capabilities, while Guangdong firms presented their
product categories, supply volumes and logistics solutions to prospective
Pakistani partners.
The GICC noted that the platform was
aimed at helping Chinese and Pakistani enterprises explore cooperation
opportunities in the grains sector and deepen trade linkages between Pakistan's
agricultural exporters and Guangdong's agri-processing and supply chain
industries.
