Pakistan-Iran talks focus on trade, connectivity boost

July 22, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan and Iran deliberated on strengthening bilateral economic cooperation, trade and connectivity during a high-level meeting held in Islamabad.

Iran's Deputy Minister of Transport, Mehran Ghorbani, and Deputy Minister of Interior for Economic Affairs, Mehdi Dousti, called on Minister of State for Finance and Railways Bilal Azhar Kayani to discuss matters of mutual interest between the two countries, said a press release issued.

The meeting was also attended by the Secretary Commerce, Member Customs Operations FBR, Secretary SIFC, Special Secretary Petroleum, Deputy Governor SBP, and senior officials from the Ministry of Communications and the Ministry of Railways
