Pakistan wins big at Kazan Global Youth Summit 2026

August 31, 2026 (MLN):  Pakistan has secured a major achievement at the Kazan Global Youth Summit 2026, as a five-member international team including a Pakistani representative claimed first position in the innovation competition organised by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) under the theme "INNOVERSE 50+: For a Resilient Future."

The winning team's project centred on climate change and environmental challenges, with the achievement underscoring the value of youth-led innovation and cross-border collaboration in tackling global environmental concerns, APP reported.

Jabbina Fawwad, Program Officer at OIC-COMSTECH, represented Pakistan on the winning team, alongside members from Malaysia, Turkiye, Algeria and Russia.

The competition drew over 100 young participants who were tasked with developing, submitting and presenting innovative ideas before a jury.

As part of their prize, the winning team members were granted access to free Coursera and Gini courses to further their professional and innovative development.

Coordinator General of OIC-COMSTECH, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, lauded Jabbina Fawwad and her teammates for their innovative approach, teamwork and commitment to addressing critical global challenges, and voiced hope that their success would encourage more young people from OIC member states to engage in international innovation and youth leadership platforms.
