May 06, 2026 (MLN): State-run Pakistan LNG Ltd. has issued a tender seeking bids for two spot LNG cargoes, according to notices released on May 6 and seen by Platts, part of S&P Global Energy.

The move comes amid ongoing supply disruptions linked to the Middle East conflict, marking the company’s second such tender in the past two weeks.

The first cargo, with a volume of 140,000 cubic meters, is scheduled for delivery between May 12 and 14, while the second is planned for May 24 to 26.

Interested suppliers have been asked to submit their bids by May 7, as per the tender documents.

Earlier, Pakistan received bids from international suppliers including TotalEnergies Gas & Power Ltd., which offered $18.88 per mmBtu for an April 27–30 delivery, and Vitol Bahrain, which quoted $18.54 per mmBtu for a May 1–7 cargo.

A third bid, priced at $17.997 per mmBtu for delivery between May 8 and May 14, was also submitted, though the supplier was not disclosed.

The renewed spot market activity showcases Pakistan’s growing reliance on short-term purchases to bridge supply gaps after disruptions to scheduled LNG deliveries, even as the country continues to depend primarily on long-term contracts with Qatar for the bulk of its imports.
