August 31, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan is set to strengthen its presence in Saudi Arabia’s rapidly expanding technology market as Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja participates in LEAP 2026 in Riyadh.

The federal minister will attend the opening ceremony of the major technology event, where she is scheduled to deliver a keynote address highlighting Pakistan’s digital capabilities and technology potential, according to media reports.

She will also inaugurate the Pakistan Pavilion at LEAP 2026, providing a dedicated platform for Pakistani technology companies to present their products, services and expertise to international investors, buyers and industry leaders.

A key engagement during the visit will be a meeting focused on the Pakistan Compute Consortium, aimed at advancing cooperation in emerging computing and digital technologies.

Shaza Fatima Khawaja is also scheduled to visit the Pakistan Pavilion as well as the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) pavilions and participating stalls at the event.

The minister will hold a bilateral meeting with the Governor of Saudi Arabia’s Digital Government Authority, along with meetings with other senior officials and prominent technology stakeholders.

LEAP has emerged as a major global technology platform, bringing together technology companies, startups, investors, government representatives and policymakers from around the world.

For Pakistani IT companies, participation in the event could open new avenues in Saudi Arabia, which is witnessing substantial investment in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, digital infrastructure and smart technologies as part of its broader digital transformation drive.

The event offers Pakistani firms an opportunity to showcase their capabilities, engage directly with potential clients and investors, pursue technology export deals and establish long-term partnerships across Saudi Arabia, the GCC and the wider Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The participation also comes at a time when Pakistan is seeking to expand its IT and digital services exports and increase the global footprint of its technology sector.
