Pakistan showcases trade strength at China expo

June 13, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan has reaffirmed its focus on strengthening regional trade and investment partnerships by participating in the 10th China-South Asia Exposition and the 30th China Kunming Import and Export Fair in Kunming, Yunnan Province.

As part of the event, Pakistan's pavilion was officially opened by Pakistan's Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, alongside Yunnan Vice Governor Yang Yang.

The pavilion emerged as a prominent feature of the exhibition, which is being held amid celebrations marking 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

Pakistan's participation was marked by a sizable business delegation, with 130 companies and 327 exhibitors representing diverse industries, as APP reported. 

The strong representation highlighted the deepening economic engagement between the two countries and reflected Pakistani businesses' growing interest in expanding their footprint in the Chinese market, according to China Economic Net (CEN).

During the exposition, Ambassador Hashmi also took part in the 7th China-South Asia Cooperation Forum, where he addressed delegates on regional cooperation and economic connectivity.

Held under the theme "Strengthening Partnership for a Community with a Shared Future for Neighboring Countries," the forum brought together Chinese officials, provincial leaders, ministers from South Asian countries, diplomats, and business representatives to discuss avenues for closer collaboration and shared development.
