August 04, 2026 (MLN): The High Commission of Pakistan in London has introduced a direct digital property transfer service for Punjab, allowing overseas Pakistanis to transfer land ownership without travelling to Pakistan or using a power of attorney, agents, or other intermediaries.

According to a statement issued by the High Commission, the new system enables a simple and fully digital transfer process, providing a transparent, secure, and cost-effective alternative to the conventional property transfer mechanism.

The mission said the initiative is aimed at facilitating the Pakistani diaspora by eliminating the need to visit Pakistan for land transfers while ensuring that transactions can be completed directly through the digital platform, according to APP.

To mark the launch of the service, the High Commission successfully completed its first digital property transfer for an overseas Pakistani, Fazal, and his family.

Sharing his experience, Fazal said the new process removed the difficulties commonly faced during property transfers in Pakistan, including dealing with revenue officials and agents.

He noted that the digital system required no additional payments or personal influence, making the entire procedure smooth and convenient.

Fazal's daughter said the family had initially expected to complete the transfer through a power of attorney but was able to transfer the property directly without involving any middlemen.

She added that the entire process was completed within a single day and described the system as transparent, secure, and user-friendly.

The High Commission reiterated its commitment to supporting overseas Pakistanis by providing efficient digital consular services, adding that it remains available to facilitate direct digital property transfers for members of the diaspora.
