Pakistan imports from China clocks in at $1.6bn

February 17, 2026 (MLN): Among Pakistan’s top trading partners, China remained the top source of imports for Pakistan during January, followed by U. A. E. Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and Indonesia.
According to the data released by the State Bank of Pakistan, the total imports from China during the period under review went up by 18.7% to $1.62 billion, as compared to $1.37 billion recorded in the corresponding period of last year.
This was followed by U. A. E. Dubai, as Pakistan imported goods worth $405.69m from the country as compared to the imports of $555.69m recorded during the same month of the previous year, depicting a deline of 27%.
Saudi Arabia was the third on the list as Pakistan imported products worth $354.39m from the country. This figure was down by 2.8% from the imports of $364.7m in the same period last year.
Indonesia was the fourth in line as imports came from the region during the aforementioned period were $332.45m, depicting an increase of 10.3% YoY.
Among other countries, Pakistan's imports from the Qatar stood at $260.34m, marking a drop of 37.3% YoY, while imports from U. S. A. increased by 35.4% YoY to $254.99m.
Moreover, the imports from Singapore stood at $226.41m, down by 4.6% YoY.
On a monthly basis, the total imports from China dropped by 8% MoM. Similarly, imports from U. A. E. Dubai dropped by 30.3% MoM.
Moreover, imports from Saudi Arabia depicted an increase of 9.6% MoM.
Meanwhile, cumulatively, in 7MFY26, China remained the top source of imports, recording $11.1bn as against the total imports worth $8.91bn in 7MFY25.
Whereas, total imports from U. A. E. Dubai in 7MFY26 stood at $3.81bn, registering an increase of 9.7%.
Cumulatively, Saudi Arabia ranked as the third-largest contributor to Pakistan's imports, accounting for imports valued at $2.27bn in 7MFY26, compared to the imports worth $2.17bn in the same period last year
