Pakistan imports from China clocks in at $1.41bn

March 17, 2026 (MLN): Among Pakistan’s top trading partners, China remained the top source of imports for Pakistan during February, followed by U. A. E. Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and U. S. A.

According to the data released by the State Bank of Pakistan, the total imports from China during the period under review went up by 9.9% to $1.41 billion, as compared to $1.28 billion recorded in the corresponding period of last year.

This was followed by U. A. E. Dubai, as Pakistan imported goods worth $482.49m from the country as compared to the imports of $678.04m recorded during the same month of the previous year, depicting a deline of 28.8%.

Saudi Arabia was the third on the list as Pakistan imported products worth $333.36m from the country. This figure was up by 12.4% from the imports of $296.62m in the same period last year.

U. S. A. was the fourth in line as imports came from the region during the aforementioned period were $303.96m, depicting an increase of 30.6% YoY.

Among other countries, Pakistan's imports from the Indonesia stood at $292.48m, marking a rise of 18.9% YoY, while imports from Qatar decreased by 27.5% YoY to $219.75m.

Moreover, the imports from Kuwait stood at $186.41m, down by 21.4% YoY.


On a monthly basis, the total imports from China dropped by 12.9% MoM. Similarly, imports from U. A. E. Dubai increased by 18.9% MoM.

Moreover, imports from Saudi Arabia depicted a decline of 5.9% MoM.

Meanwhile, cumulatively, in 8MFY26, China remained the top source of imports, recording $12.5bn as against the total imports worth $10.19bn in 8MFY25.

Whereas, total imports from U. A. E. Dubai in 8MFY26 stood at $4.29bn, registering an increase of 3.4%.

Cumulatively, Saudi Arabia ranked as the third-largest contributor to Pakistan's imports, accounting for imports valued at $2.61bn in 8MFY26, compared to the imports worth $2.47bn in the same period last year.
