Pakistan, Mastercard focus on fintech expansion

April 14, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan and Mastercard explored opportunities to strengthen digital payments, expand financial inclusion, and drive innovation in the country’s fintech ecosystem during engagements held alongside the World Bank–IMF Spring Meetings 2026.

The discussions took place in a meeting between Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Mr. Tucker Foote, Chief of Global Affairs and Policy at Mastercard, according to a press release issued.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing a secure, inclusive, and forward-looking digital economy in Pakistan, while also deliberating on cybersecurity, cross-border financial flows, and remittances.
