July 23, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and the United Kingdom have renewed their commitment to strengthen ties across economic, trade, and parliamentary sectors.

The reaffirmation came during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and the UK’s Minister for Africa, the UN, Commonwealth, and Multilateral Affairs, Lord Collins of Highbury.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Open Debate, chaired by Pakistan during its presidency, according to the press release issued.

Lord Collins acknowledged the vital role played by the Pakistani diaspora in the UK and appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in advancing dispute resolution mechanisms during its term at the UNSC.

The discussion between the two sides covered key regional and global developments, including the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

They also voiced deep concern over the worsening humanitarian conditions in Gaza.

Both leaders underlined the significance of the upcoming International Conference on the Two-State Solution, scheduled for the 28th of this month.
