Pakistan, UAE strengthen strategic and economic ties

February 16, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates moved to further strengthen their longstanding strategic partnership.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF)
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met with Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and UAE
National Security Advisor Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan today.
The high-level engagement focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in key sectors, particularly economic collaboration, investment, and security.
Both sides explored avenues to deepen coordination in line with
shared strategic interests and evolving regional dynamics, as reported by APP.
The meeting also featured an exchange of views on regional
developments, with both leaders emphasizing the importance of continued
dialogue and coordination to ensure peace and stability.
They emphasized the need for close cooperation to address
common security challenges and promote sustainable development.
During the discussions, Field Marshal Asim Munir expressed
gratitude to the UAE government for its longstanding investments and consistent
support for Pakistan’s economic stability and security framework.
He noted that the enduring relationship between the two
countries is anchored in historical bonds, mutual trust, and shared objectives.
The army chief further affirmed that the security and stability of the UAE remain closely linked to Pakistan’s own strategic interests.
Reiterating Islamabad’s commitment, he stressed the importance of strengthening collaboration across all sectors in a manner that benefits both nations and contributes to regional peace and prosperity.
