Pakistan, UAE fast track action plan for Government sector reforms

October 03, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates have agreed to maintain the pace on their action plan for cooperation in government sectors following a meeting between senior officials in Dubai.

Bilal Azhar Kayani, Minister of State for Finance and Railways and Head of the Prime Minister's Delivery Unit (PMDU), met with Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Experience Exchange of the United Arab Emirates.

Minister Kayani expressed gratitude to the UAE Government for its continued support and cooperation under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Mutual Government Experience Exchange, signed on June 16, 2025.

Both sides reviewed the knowledge exchange sessions held so far, including in-person sessions in the UAE and virtual meetings. They assessed the progress made under the cooperation framework.

The officials discussed the action plan for future collaboration across different sectors of government.

Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to institutional reform, improved service delivery and modernized governance.

The UAE and Pakistan agreed to maintain close coordination for the effective implementation of the MoU, with timely follow-up actions to ensure continued progress in government sector cooperation.
