Pakistan, UAE eye stronger economic ties

January 28, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are set to expand their long-standing partnership, following high-level discussions in Abu Dhabi between President Asif Ali Zardari and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The two leaders reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations and discussed measures to further strengthen economic, strategic, and cultural ties, according to Radio Pakistan

Key areas of focus included trade, investment, energy, infrastructure, technology, and people-to-people exchanges, highlighting strong potential for deeper collaboration.

Regional and international developments were also discussed, with both sides emphasizing their commitment to promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development.

President Zardari highlighted the significance of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s recent visit to Pakistan in reinforcing the brotherly ties between the two nations.

The meeting was attended by First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE.
