October 16, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan and Thailand have discussed ways to expand bilateral trade, strengthen cultural links and promote tourism in both directions, while also exploring a return to high-level exchanges, including at the Prime Minister level.

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb held the talks with Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Ekniti Nitithanprapas, on the sidelines of the World Bank Group-IMF Annual Meetings 2026 in Bangkok, said a press release issued.

The meeting centred on strengthening bilateral relations and widening economic cooperation between the two countries.

Both sides looked at ways to raise trade volumes and deepen people-to-people and cultural ties, with tourism flowing in both directions identified as an area to promote.
