Pakistan, Saudi Arabia deepen economic ties at Joint Business Council Meeting

October 09, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral trade and investment cooperation during the Saudi–Pakistan Joint Business Council Meeting held in Islamabad.
The meeting, organized under the Saudi–Pakistan
Joint Business Council with the support of the Special Investment
Facilitation Council (SIFC) and the Ministry of Commerce, brought
together leading Saudi business figures and prominent Pakistani entrepreneurs
from key sectors including minerals, energy, agriculture, construction,
infrastructure, tourism, and real estate, said a press release issued.
The Saudi delegation was led by Prince
Mansour bin Mohammed Al Saud, Chairman of the Saudi–Pakistan Joint Business
Council, who praised Pakistan’s efforts to create a transparent and
investor-friendly business environment.
He reaffirmed the Kingdom’s long-term
economic engagement with Pakistan in line with Saudi Vision 2030,
describing Pakistan as a key regional partner with vast potential in agriculture,
mining, energy, technology, tourism, and real estate.
During the session, Pakistani
ministers and industry leaders briefed the Saudi side on emerging
opportunities under SIFC’s priority sectors, highlighting regulatory
reforms and investment facilitation measures designed to attract foreign
investors.
A dedicated briefing session organized
by the SIFC and Ministry of Commerce provided the delegation with an
overview of Pakistan’s evolving investment framework and the government’s
initiatives to streamline business operations.
As part of the visit, the Saudi
delegation will also travel to Karachi and Lahore for meetings with provincial
governments and leading business houses to explore joint ventures and
public private partnerships across priority sectors.
The visit marks a significant
milestone in strengthening economic cooperation between Riyadh and
Islamabad, aligning Saudi Vision 2030 with Pakistan’s investment-driven growth
agenda.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Shehbaz
Sharif also hosted a banquet in honor of the Saudi delegation.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime
Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to facilitate joint ventures and
encouraged business communities of both countries to capitalize on new trade
and investment opportunities.
In his remarks, Prince Mansour bin
Mohammed Al Saud acknowledged Pakistan’s business-friendly environment
and highlighted the potential for cooperation in agriculture, dairy and meat
processing, food security, pharmaceuticals, and construction.
Both sides reiterated their commitment to transforming their historic brotherly relations into a dynamic, future-oriented economic partnership, aimed at promoting regional prosperity and stability through enhanced trade and investment.
