November 05, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and Qatar have reaffirmed their historic and brotherly ties, agreeing to expand collaboration in defence, agriculture, and investment, while strengthening political, economic, and cultural relations, as press release issued today.

The discussions took place during a high-level meeting in Doha between Pakistan’s leadership and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar.

During the meeting, Pakistan offered to broaden cooperation in defence and defence production, with Qatar responding positively and instructing relevant authorities to initiate discussions immediately. Both sides also explored opportunities to enhance collaboration in agriculture and food security.

The Amir of Qatar praised the recent Pakistan-Saudi Arabia defence agreement, describing it as a timely and welcome step. He highlighted Pakistan’s unique position in maintaining strategic ties with China, the West, and Gulf states simultaneously.

The leaders emphasized Qatar’s growing global role as a hub for dialogue and humanitarian diplomacy. Pakistan reaffirmed its solidarity with Qatar, recalling strong condemnation of Israel’s aggression and continued support for Qatar’s sovereignty at international forums.

President Zardari also commended Qatari initiatives like the Qatar Fund for Development and Education Above All Foundation for promoting humanitarian aid, education, and cultural exchange.

Both sides welcomed increased Qatari investment in Pakistan, with President Zardari expressing confidence that bilateral cooperation would continue to grow.

The meeting concluded with an invitation for the Amir to visit Pakistan, which he accepted, confirming a visit early next year.

The meeting was attended by Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar, highlighting the strategic importance of the bilateral partnership.
