Pakistan, Oman agree to boost trade, investment ties

July 23, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan and Oman have reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral ties by increasing high-level engagements, promoting trade and investment, strengthening business partnerships, enhancing people-to-people exchanges, and maintaining close coordination at multilateral forums.

The understanding was reached during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum in Manila.

The two ministers reviewed the progress in bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction over the growing momentum of cooperation between the two countries.

They also discussed recent regional and global developments, with a particular focus on issues affecting regional peace and stability, according to Radio Pakistan.

During the meeting, the Omani foreign minister acknowledged Pakistan's efforts to promote dialogue, de-escalation, and peaceful resolution of regional challenges.

Both sides voiced concern over the recent situation in the region and emphasized the need to preserve the ceasefire, uphold international law, and support efforts aimed at achieving durable peace and stability.
