Pakistan, Indonesia align on Palestine at UNSC

February 19, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan and Indonesia reaffirmed their longstanding brotherly relations as their top diplomats held a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the High-Level United Nations Security Council (UNSC) briefing on Palestine in New York.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono to discuss matters of mutual interest.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the current state of bilateral ties and expressed satisfaction over the depth and strength of the enduring relationship shared by the two nations.

The two diplomats exchanged views on key regional and international developments, with particular focus on the ongoing situation in Gaza and the West Bank.

Both sides agreed to work in close coordination toward achieving a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace in Palestine, in line with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.

Recalling the successful visit of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to Pakistan in December 2025, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized its special significance.

He noted that the visit injected fresh momentum into bilateral cooperation and showed the steady progress both countries have achieved over the decades.
