Pakistan, Chinese firm to set up laptop and tablet manufacturing industry

September 23, 2025 (MLN): HYF, a chinese technology company is set to explore establishing a laptop and tablet manufacturing industry in Pakistan.

This was decided in a meeting between HYF’s CEO and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) Haroon Akhtar Khan, said a press released issued.

SAPM Haroon Akhtar Khan highlighted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed all possible facilitation for Chinese investors, assuring them that their investments will remain fully secure.

He added that the government is working on a Mobile Device Policy that will also cover laptops and tablets to boost local manufacturing.

To further support investors, the visa policy has been revised to issue business and visit visas for Chinese nationals within 24 to 72 hours.

Haroon directed the Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) and the Engineering Development Board (EDB) to provide full cooperation to HYF for the successful launch of its project in Pakistan.
