August 08, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and China have reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening bilateral ties across government-to-government (G2G), business-to-business (B2B), and people-to-people (P2P) domains, as part of a broader push to enhance regional and institutional cooperation.

The reaffirmation came during a three-day orientation visit by Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, to Gansu (China’s province) from August 4 to 6, 2025.

In a key meeting with Mr. Hu Changsheng, Secretary of the Communist Party of China’s Gansu Provincial Committee, both sides emphasized the strategic importance of deepening collaboration in areas of mutual interest.

Discussions focused on reinforcing multifaceted partnerships that align with Pakistan China all-weather friendship and contribute to sustainable development goals.

Throughout his visit, Ambassador Hashmi engaged with a wide spectrum across the province. At Lanzhou University, he was briefed on research projects tailored to empower small-scale farmers in Pakistan through water-efficient practices and cost-effective, high-yield agricultural technologies.

The Ambassador also toured major industrial and innovation centers including Lanzhou New Area and Jinchuan Science Park.

He interacted with top-tier Chinese enterprises such as LS Group and Legend Group to explore opportunities for advancing industrial and technological collaboration under the framework of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

A significant highlight of the visit was a stop at the Gansu Vocational Education Park, where the Ambassador met with institutional leaders to discuss expanding cooperation in technical education and workforce development.

Both sides explored ways to promote skills training and youth empowerment through joint programs and exchange mechanisms.

Engaging with local media, Ambassador Hashmi expressed confidence in the growing synergy between Pakistan and Gansu, noting that the visit had unlocked fresh momentum in regional linkages.

He emphasized that enhanced cooperation at sub-national levels complements the broader strategic partnership between Pakistan and China.
