Pakistan, China pledge to deepen partnership at SCO Forum

July 16, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and China reaffirmed their strong bilateral partnership during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Tianjin.

Senator Dar extended his congratulations to Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the successful hosting of the SCO CFM and thanked the Chinese leadership for their warm hospitality.

The two sides held wide-ranging discussions focused on key areas of mutual interest, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and broader multilateral cooperation.

Highlighting the strength of the Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, both leaders expressed satisfaction with their ongoing collaboration across various sectors.

They reiterated their firm commitment to further enhancing bilateral ties to promote regional peace, stability, and development.

Separately, Pakistan and Uzbekistan reaffirmed their dedication to expanding cooperation during a meeting between Senator Dar and Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov held a day earlier during the SCO CFMs concluding cruise in Tianjin.

In a social media post, Dar stated that the two sides reviewed progress on existing initiatives and pledged to deepen collaboration in all areas of mutual interest, including the Uzbek-Afghan-Pak railway connectivity project.
