Pakistan, Bosnia seek practical science and technology cooperation

September 30, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan and Bosnia and Herzegovina have discussed a roadmap to translate their existing science and technology cooperation into practical projects covering metrology, technical expertise and institutional capacity building.

Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Pakistan Emin Ohodarevi met Federal Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology Shahid Iqbal Baloch to discuss ways to deepen bilateral cooperation in science, technology and innovation.

The discussions focused on implementation of a Memorandum of Understanding signed earlier this year between the Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the National Metrology Institute of Pakistan.

The agreement provides a basis for stronger institutional and technical cooperation between the two countries.

Emin Ohodarevi shared the Bosnian side’s roadmap for advancing cooperation under the MoU, while both sides discussed metrology, capacity building, exchange of experts and technical collaboration.

Shahid Iqbal Baloch assured the Ambassador of the Ministry’s support for implementing the agreed areas of cooperation.

The Ministry will review the proposed roadmap and coordinate with the National Metrology Institute of Pakistan to identify the next steps for implementation.

The two sides agreed to maintain close coordination to ensure timely progress on the cooperation activities.

The development could provide a framework for greater technical exchange and institutional collaboration between Pakistan and Bosnia and Herzegovina in science and technology.
