FM Muhammad Aurangzeb, Belarus minister discuss trade, investment ties

August 13, 2026 (MLN): Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb discussed ways to expand bilateral trade, investment and economic cooperation with Belarusian Energy Minister Denis Moroz during a meeting in Islamabad.
Denis Moroz called on Muhammad Aurangzeb along with a
high-level delegation, with both sides reviewing the broader agenda of
Pakistan-Belarus economic relations and exploring avenues to strengthen
commercial ties and investment flows.
Muhammad Aurangzeb welcomed the Belarusian delegation and
highlighted the longstanding engagement between the two countries, stressing
the importance of expanding economic linkages and maintaining continued
institutional engagement.
The discussions covered cooperation in industrial
development, agriculture, education, culture and other areas of mutual
interest. The Belarusian delegation highlighted ongoing efforts to advance
collaboration across these sectors.
Muhammad Aurangzeb reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to
working closely with Belarusian counterparts to convert ongoing engagement into
concrete outcomes and further deepen cooperation.
Denis Moroz appreciated the Finance Minister’s support and
expressed confidence that continued coordination between relevant institutions
would help facilitate bilateral trade, investment and economic cooperation.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary, Ministry of Economic Affairs, along with Belarusian Ambassador to Pakistan Andrei Metelitsa, First Deputy Minister of Industry Viktor Shchetko, Director of Department at Belarus’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andrei Prokopchuk, National Bank of Belarus representative Viktor Nikitin and senior officials from the Finance Division.
