Pakistan, Bangladesh end Visa requirements for officials

August 22, 2025 (MLN): Diplomats from both countries can now enter each other's territory visa-free after Pakistan and Bangladesh agreed on a historic deal.

The groundbreaking agreement, approved by Bangladesh's Advisory Council Committee, allows holders of diplomatic and official passports from both countries to travel without visas for five years.

This is the most significant diplomatic milestone between the nations in decades.

During parallel discussions in Dhaka, Pakistan's Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Bangladesh's Adviser for Industries Adilur Rahman Khan reached a comprehensive understanding on promoting bilateral trade and industrial development through strategic collaboration.

Minister Kamal Khan highlighted Pakistan's keen interest in contributing to Bangladesh's rapidly evolving industrial sector through joint ventures and mutual investments, opening new avenues for economic partnership.

In a significant trade development, the Pakistani commerce minister addressed the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, actively encouraging Bangladeshi traders to import cement, sugar, footwear, and leather products from Pakistan.

This targeted approach represents Pakistan's strategic effort to capture market share in Bangladesh's growing consumer economy while diversifying its export portfolio in the region.
