PSX explores acquiring further stake in NCCPL

August 07, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan Stock Exchange
Limited (PSX) has initiated engagement with one or more existing shareholders
of National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCPL) to explore the
possibility of acquiring further shares in the company.
The engagement follows amendments notified by the
Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) to the Clearing Houses
(Licensing and Operations) Regulations, 2016 and the Central Depositories
(Licensing and Operations) Regulations, 2016, which, among other things,
provide for enhanced permissible foreign shareholding limits in such
institutions along with the criteria for their computation.
PSX said the communication is being made at a
preliminary stage and that no agreement or transaction has been concluded as of
the date of disclosure.
A further update will be issued in line with applicable
disclosure requirements upon execution of any definitive agreement or any
material development in this regard.
The aforementioned information was
disseminated through a notification to Exchange.
