April 10, 2026 (MLN): Stocks at the Pakistan Stock Exchange traded higher at the opening bell on Friday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index extending gains as investors remained cautiously optimistic despite ongoing geopolitical uncertainty.
During early trading, the KSE-100 Index climbed to 167,449.52, up 1,932.01 points or 1.17%. The index remained in positive territory throughout the session so far, touching an intraday high of 167,449.52 (+1,932.01 points) and a low of 166,221.33 (+703.82 points), indicating steady upward momentum.
Market activity appeared relatively thin, with total traded volume in the KSE-100 Index recorded at 14.22 million shares. Of the 100 index companies, 75 were trading higher, 6 declined, while 19 remained untraded, reflecting a strong positive bias.

Among the top gainers, FCCL (+4.53%), DGKC (+4.52%), GAL (+3.93%), FATIMA (+3.46%), and PABC (+3.35%) led the advance.
In terms of index-point contribution, the gains were driven by UBL (+214.35 points), LUCK (+130.63 points), MCB (+111.95 points), HUBC (+103.75 points), and ENGROH (+83.71 points).
Sector-wise, the KSE-100 Index was supported by Commercial Banks (+677.00 points), Cement (+350.00 points), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+165.49 points), Fertilizer (+150.03 points), and Power Generation & Distribution (+130.04 points). Limited downside pressure was observed in glass & ceramics and paper-related sectors.
Investor sentiment remained cautiously positive but fragile, as a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran continued to keep markets on edge. Oil prices remained volatile amid uncertainty over the durability of the agreement, leaving investors wary of potential disruptions in global energy supplies.
The mixed global backdrop kept buying selective at the local bourse, with investors weighing improving sentiment against lingering geopolitical risks.
