October 15, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Wednesday's trading session at 165,686.38, showing an increase of 210.36 points or 0.13%.

The index traded in a range of 2,204.49 points showing an intraday high of 167,561.69 (+2,085.67) and a low of 165,357.20 (-118.82) points.

The positivity in the market was supported by improved investor sentiment amid renewed optimism about economic stability and stronger corporate earnings expectations. Gains in the banking sector helped lift the index, as Pakistan reached an agreement on its loan program with IMF, which would allow the country to access $1.2 billion.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 893.80 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 52 closed up, 48 closed down, while 0 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were PSEL (+10.00%), KEL (+7.60%), ABL (+5.37%), BNWM (+5.30%), and FABL (+4.22%).

On the other hand, top losers were PABC (-4.51%), CPHL (-3.29%), PKGP (-3.02%), MLCF (-2.94%), and GADT (-2.85%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were FFC (+149.06pts), MEBL (+136.92pts), MARI (+116.57pts), BAFL (+94.35pts), and PSEL (+77.86pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were SYS (-137.05pts), LUCK (-127.04pts), EFERT (-124.46pts), UBL (-104.75pts), and PPL (-84.02pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Commercial Banks (+469.20pts), Miscellaneous (+63.02pts), Power Generation & Distribution (+56.36pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+50.41pts), and Fertilizer (+46.81pts).

While the index was let down by Cement (-210.73pts), Technology & Communication (-130.16pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-48.45pts), Pharmaceuticals (-40.06pts), and Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-30.06pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 52,757.30 with a net gain of 20.06 points or 0.04%.

Total market volume was 1,528.36 million shares compared to 1,179.99m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs68.60 billion showing an increase of Rs9.40bn.

There were 500,749 trades reported in 489 companies with 249 closing up, 204 closing down, and 36 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 40,059 points or 31.89% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 50,559 points or 43.92% so far this calendar year.
