October 14, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Tuesday's trading session at 165,476.02, showing an increase of 7,032.60 points or 4.44%.

The index remained positive throughout the day showing an intraday high of 165,866.77 (+7,423.35) and a low of 160,821.72 (+2,378.30) points.

This return of the index from lower levels was due to the easing of political instability in the country and a quieter Pakistan-Afghanistan situation at the border.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 586.85 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 96 closed up, 3 closed down, while 1 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were PSEL (+10.00%), SYS (+10.00%), PAEL (+9.13%), BOP (+8.97%), and LOTCHEM (+8.70%).

On the other hand, top losers were UNITY (-0.23%), PKGP (-0.11%), UPFL (-0.02%), MEHT (+0.00%), and PABC (+0.01%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were LUCK (+527.45pts), UBL (+508.89pts), SYS (+479.88pts), ENGROH (+428.47pts), and HUBC (+361.51pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were UNITY (-0.72pts), PKGP (-0.50pts), UPFL (-0.07pts), MEHT (+0.00pts), and PGLC (+0.03pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Commercial Banks (+2202.60pts), Cement (+933.09pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+875.92pts), Technology & Communication (+565.11pts), and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+458.71pts).

While the index was let down by Leasing Companies (+0.03pts), Woollen (+0.15pts), Vanaspati & Allied Industries (+0.63pts), Textile Weaving (+0.66pts), and Sugar & Allied Industries (+0.70pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 52,737.24 with a net gain of 2,235.59 points or 4.43%.

Total market volume was 1,179.99 million shares compared to 1,365.70m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs59.20 billion showing a decrease of Rs3.26bn.

There were 483,485 trades reported in 483 companies with 391 closing up, 69 closing down, and 23 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 39,849 points or 31.72% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 50,349 points or 43.73% so far this calendar year.
