PSX Closing Bell: Modest Gains Hold the Day

December 12, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Friday's trading session at 169,864.52, showing an increase of 1,289.83 points or 0.77%.

The index traded in a range of 1,631.32 points showing an intraday high of 170,052.87 (+1,478.18) and a low of 168,421.55 (-153.14) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 309.70 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 65 closed up, 32 closed down, while 3 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were NML (+5.40%), KAPCO (+3.76%), CHCC (+3.74%), MLCF (+3.19%), and MCB (+2.97%).

On the other hand, top losers were PGLC (-3.88%), SRVI (-3.57%), JVDC (-3.16%), GADT (-2.64%), and SSGC (-2.50%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were FFC (+371.67pts), MCB (+150.03pts), SYS (+115.61pts), PPL (+73.63pts), and HUBC (+72.37pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were SRVI (-45.95pts), ENGROH (-38.39pts), DHPL (-17.56pts), JVDC (-14.77pts), and DGKC (-12.91pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Fertilizer (+442.80pts), Commercial Banks (+312.43pts), Cement (+176.23pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+155.20pts), and Technology & Communication (+123.67pts).

While the index was let down by Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-53.98pts), Leather & Tanneries (-45.95pts), Property (-14.77pts), Insurance (-8.87pts), and Tobacco (-5.71pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 102,725.12 with a net gain of 553.85 points or 0.54%.

Total market volume was 873.03 million shares compared to 1,288.97m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs40.87 billion showing a decrease of Rs14.36bn.

There were 378,060 trades reported in 482 companies with 259 closing up, 180 closing down, and 43 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 44,237 points or 35.21% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 54,738 points or 47.55% so far this calendar year.
