PSX Closing Bell: Modest Gains

January 22, 2026 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Thursday's trading session at 187,688.16, showing an increase of 654.90 points or 0.35%.

The index traded in a range of 1,281.21 points showing an intraday high of 188,106.82 (+1,073.56) and a low of 186,825.61 (-207.65) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 462.47 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 55 closed up, 44 closed down, while 1 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were ATRL (+6.99%), AICL (+3.89%), ISL (+3.23%), ENGROH (+3.16%), and ATLH (+2.19%).

On the other hand, top losers were PGLC (-3.06%), BOP (-1.77%), PSEL (-1.51%), ILP (-1.34%), and MUREB (-1.32%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were ENGROH (+273.65pts), HUBC (+109.02pts), EFERT (+97.44pts), ATRL (+83.41pts), and AICL (+42.94pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were UBL (-87.24pts), HBL (-52.44pts), BOP (-34.62pts), FFC (-21.97pts), and MARI (-20.49pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+281.99pts), Cement (+124.81pts), Power Generation & Distribution (+116.19pts), Refinery (+90.38pts), and Fertilizer (+81.34pts).

While the index was let down by Commercial Banks (-163.22pts), Technology & Communication (-17.69pts), Miscellaneous (-16.18pts), Tobacco (-6.59pts), and Chemical (-3.61pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 112,627.69 with a net gain of 272.05 points or 0.24%.

Total market volume was 1,069.31 million shares compared to 1,325.60m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs49.16 billion showing a decrease of Rs20.43bn.

There were 424,945 trades reported in 486 companies with 238 closing up, 201 closing down, and 47 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 62,061 points or 49.40% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 13,634 points or 7.83% so far this calendar year.
