September 24, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Wednesday's trading session at 158,236.67, showing an increase of 291.65 points or 0.18%.

The index remained positive throughout the day showing an intraday high of 159,046.60 (+1,101.58) and a low of 158,133.30 (+188.28) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 1,027.32 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 40 closed up, 55 closed down, while 5 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were KEL (+12.84%), PPL (+4.33%), BWCL (+3.52%), HUBC (+2.75%), and SRVI (+2.58%).

On the other hand, top losers were TPLRF1 (-4.50%), HGFA (-4.46%), TGL (-3.97%), MEHT (-3.16%), and PKGP (-2.94%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were PPL (+188.36pts), HUBC (+177.03pts), UBL (+97.43pts), KEL (+75.58pts), and MARI (+57.52pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were FFC (-102.42pts), SYS (-62.20pts), EFERT (-54.01pts), MEBL (-36.54pts), and NBP (-34.61pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+254.59pts), Power Generation & Distribution (+240.95pts), Commercial Banks (+74.76pts), Cement (+56.76pts), and Leather & Tanneries (+27.37pts).

While the index was let down by Fertilizer (-145.77pts), Technology & Communication (-82.23pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-45.22pts), Real Estate Investment Trust (-28.27pts), and Glass & Ceramics (-22.66pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 50,566.04 with a net gain of 93.20 points or 0.18%.

Total market volume was 1,780.97 million shares compared to 1,521.52m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs54.52 billion showing a decrease of Rs4.20bn.

There were 475,970 trades reported in 484 companies with 194 closing up, 252 closing down, and 38 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 32,609 points or 25.96% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 43,110 points or 37.45% so far this calendar year.
