PSX Closing Bell: Just a Little Bit Stronger

July 28, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Monday's trading session at 139,380.05, gaining 172.77 points or 0.12%.

During the session, the index moved within a range of 953.39 points, recording an intraday high of 140,149.23 (+941.95) and a low of 139,195.84 (-11.44) points.

Total traded volume on the KSE-100 Index stood at 213.99 million shares.

Outlook is still intact with 137k level continue to act as strong support the KSE-100, Ali Najib, Deputy Head of Trading at Arif Habib Limited told Mettis Global.

If breached, the index may be pushed toward 135k, where attractive valuations and anticipated monetary easing could trigger renewed buying interest, he added.

 

Of the 100 index companies 55 closed up, 45 closed down, while 0 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were ATLH (+6.66%), HGFA (+6.02%), SAZEW (+5.03%), GLAXO (+4.53%), and FATIMA (+4.52%).

On the other hand, top losers were ABL (-4.85%), BAFL (-2.99%), PSEL (-2.99%), FABL (-2.50%), and IBFL (-2.42%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were LUCK (+158.12pts), SYS (+76.86pts), FATIMA (+51.40pts), PSO (+47.72pts), and SAZEW (+44.50pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were UBL (-129.53pts), MEBL (-66.16pts), BAFL (-65.26pts), HBL (-64.54pts), and MCB (-58.11pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Cement (+274.89pts), Pharmaceuticals (+124.22pts), Fertilizer (+84.14pts), Technology & Communication (+82.73pts), and Automobile Assembler (+64.60pts).

While the index was let down by Commercial Banks (-586.48pts), Power Generation & Distribution (-51.41pts), Miscellaneous (-31.05pts), Real Estate Investment Trust (-12.36pts), and Paper, Board & Packaging (-9.88pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 86,340.25 with a net gain of 163.33 points or 0.19%.

Total market volume was 589.31 million shares compared to 634.81m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs34.56 billion showing an increase of Rs9.95bn.

There were 333,687 trades reported in 483 companies with 251 closing up, 205 closing down, and 27 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 13,753 points or 10.95% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 24,253 points or 21.07% so far this calendar year.
