November 05, 2026 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index surged 3,366.38 points or 1.96% on Thursday to close at 175,379.86, as broad-based buying across heavyweight sectors powered a strong market rally.
Investor sentiment received a boost from declining oil prices, which extended their losing streak to a fourth consecutive session. Investors assessed the implications of setbacks for U.S. President Donald Trump's Republican Party in Congressional elections, weighing whether the political developments could reduce the likelihood of further military escalation in the Middle East. Easing geopolitical concerns and softer crude prices supported risk appetite.
The index remained positive throughout the session, touching an intraday high of 176,604.51, up 4,591.03 points, while its low stood at 174,291.25, reflecting a gain of 2,277.77 points.
