PSX Closing Bell: Green Wave Sweeps In

October 14, 2026 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Wednesday's trading session at 165,417.50, showing an increase of 641.06 points or 0.39%.

The index traded in a range of 1,569.01 points showing an intraday high of 165,629.34 (+852.90) and a low of 164,060.33 (-716.11) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 149.81 million shares.

Fresh buying interest, particularly in banking, cement, fertilizer, and investment stocks, supported the benchmark as investors accumulated select heavyweight shares following recent market weakness.

Of the 100 index companies 59 closed up, 40 closed down, while 1 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were BML (+10.01%), TRG (+4.84%), CNERGY (+3.42%), IMAGE (+2.27%), and HMB (+1.94%).

On the other hand, top losers were NATF (-2.40%), NCPL (-2.05%), PTC (-1.60%), JDWS (-1.35%), and SCBPL (-1.10%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were ENGROH (+119.43pts), LUCK (+77.33pts), FFC (+69.77pts), BAHL (+67.56pts), and NBP (+48.23pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were MCB (-48.06pts), HUBC (-33.54pts), POL (-17.70pts), PTC (-17.51pts), and NATF (-15.99pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Commercial Banks (+232.46pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+115.67pts), Cement (+82.54pts), Fertilizer (+82.41pts), and Refinery (+54.97pts).

While the index was let down by Power Generation & Distribution (-36.82pts), Miscellaneous (-11.25pts), Insurance (-6.64pts), Automobile Assembler (-5.28pts), and Tobacco (-5.01pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 100,346.06 with a net gain of 370.21 points or 0.37%.

Total market volume was 585.89 million shares compared to 383.75m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs20.07 billion showing an increase of Rs6.97bn.

There were 297,120 trades reported in 501 companies with 256 closing up, 200 closing down, and 45 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has lost 14,884 points or 8.26% during the fiscal year, whereas it has decreased 8,637 points or 4.96% so far this calendar year.
