PSX Closing Bell: From Boom to Breather

November 05, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Wednesday's trading session at 159,578.19, showing a decrease of 1,703.57 points or 1.06%.

The index traded in a range of 2,835.59 points showing an intraday high of 162,052.45 (+770.69) and a low of 159,216.86 (-2,064.90) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 333.05 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 25 closed up, 72 closed down, while 3 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were IBFL (-8.10%), PAKT (-3.16%), PGLC (-3.13%), PABC (-3.06%), and PIBTL (-2.95%).

On the other hand, top gainers were DHPL (+9.96%), PSEL (+5.12%), PKGP (+3.95%), NATF (+3.36%), and MTL (+2.97%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were FFC (-279.43pts), ENGROH (-194.79pts), LUCK (-190.28pts), MEBL (-146.70pts), and SYS (-91.38pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were PSEL (+70.57pts), DHPL (+58.96pts), MTL (+46.65pts), NATF (+25.15pts), and SEARL (+22.25pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks (-500.00pts), Fertilizer (-375.05pts), Cement (-300.87pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-135.50pts), and Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-130.55pts).

While the index was supported by Miscellaneous (+59.54pts), Cable & Electrical Goods (+21.41pts), Refinery (+20.85pts), Automobile Assembler (+17.31pts), and Modarabas (+1.34pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 50,244.49 with a net loss of 544.01 points or 1.07%.

Total market volume was 860.26 million shares compared to 899.41m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs34.85 billion showing a decrease of Rs2.47bn.

There were 378,051 trades reported in 481 companies with 158 closing up, 278 closing down, and 45 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 33,951 points or 27.03% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 44,451 points or 38.61% so far this calendar year.
