July 14, 2026 (MLN): The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) suffered another sharp selloff on Tuesday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index ending the session deep in the red as investors continued to dump equities amid escalating geopolitical tensions and a surge in global oil prices.

Market sentiment remained heavily pressured after U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Washington would impose a 20% shipping fee on cargo transiting the Strait of Hormuz and reinstate a blockade of Iranian ports, heightening fears of fresh disruptions to global crude supplies.

The escalation fueled concerns over inflationary pressures, higher import costs, and broader economic uncertainty, prompting widespread risk-off sentiment across the market.
