PSX Closing Bell: Bulls on the Loose

October 28, 2026 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Wednesday's trading session at 165,736.75, showing an increase of 1,269.55 points or 0.77%.
The index traded in a range of 1,744.51 points showing an intraday high of 166,100.33 (+1,633.13) and a low of 164,355.82 (-111.38) points.
The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 183.55 million shares.
Of the 100 index companies 63 closed up, 34 closed down, while 3 were unchanged.
Top gainers during the day were GHNI (+10.00%), TGL (+7.03%), NBP (+6.58%), LOTCHEM (+5.23%), and SAZEW (+4.65%).
On the other hand, top losers were NPL (-4.75%), NCPL (-4.64%), HGFA (-4.25%), PGLC (-2.77%), and INIL (-2.72%).
In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were FFC (+338.39pts), NBP (+185.21pts), HUBC (+158.19pts), MCB (+78.98pts), and BAFL (+73.39pts).
Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were ENGROH (-86.63pts), MARI (-36.82pts), SYS (-36.55pts), POL (-26.47pts), and ATRL (-22.11pts).
Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Commercial Banks (+536.03pts), Fertilizer (+443.54pts), Automobile Assembler (+151.52pts), Power Generation & Distribution (+126.98pts), and Cement (+75.87pts).
While the index was let down by Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-105.49pts), Technology & Communication (-49.01pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-39.76pts), Refinery (-18.19pts), and Leather & Tanneries (-6.94pts).
In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 100,358.83 with a net gain of 628.92 points or 0.63%.
Total market volume was 578.12 million shares compared to 401.97m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs26.20 billion showing an increase of Rs8.13bn.
There were 334,236 trades reported in 496 companies with 269 closing up, 180 closing down, and 47 remaining unchanged.
