October 15, 2026 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index extended its winning streak on Thursday, gaining 768.66 points or 0.46% to close at 166,186.16, as broad-based buying continued across key sectors amid easing oil prices.

Crude prices declined as investors weighed the potential impact of shipping disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz following attacks on vessels in the strategic waterway, alongside the International Energy Agency's (IEA) latest assessment of global oil markets. The softer oil prices provided some relief to market sentiment, supporting renewed buying interest in heavyweight stocks.

The index remained in positive territory throughout the session, touching an intraday high of 166,877.01, up 1,459.51 points, while its low stood at 165,613.11, reflecting a gain of 195.61 points.
