PSX Closing Bell: Bulls Shift Into High Gear

October 29, 2026 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Thursday's trading session at 167,193.43, showing an increase of 1,456.68 points or 0.88%.

The index remained positive throughout the day showing an intraday high of 167,483.48 (+1,746.73) and a low of 165,907.29 (+170.54) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 366.12 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 57 closed up, 43 closed down.

Top gainers during the day were CNERGY (+10.00%), PTC (+7.42%), ILP (+5.34%), IBFL (+5.10%), and THCCL (+4.52%).

On the other hand, top losers were PKGS (-4.06%), CPHL (-3.45%), GAL (-3.43%), IMAGE (-3.29%), and KTML (-2.21%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were FFC (+337.26pts), ENGROH (+208.05pts), HBL (+151.48pts), MCB (+146.42pts), and UBL (+81.26pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were NBP (-52.22pts), DGKC (-20.54pts), POL (-18.22pts), PSO (-17.91pts), and PKGS (-17.44pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Commercial Banks (+451.58pts), Fertilizer (+436.88pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+211.82pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+106.06pts), and Refinery (+98.57pts).

While the index was let down by Paper, Board & Packaging (-17.44pts), Miscellaneous (-16.30pts), Leather & Tanneries (-7.92pts), Real Estate Investment Trust (-6.28pts), and Apparel (-4.22pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 101,164.94 with a net gain of 806.11 points or 0.80%.

Total market volume was 816.83 million shares compared to 578.12m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs31.54 billion showing an increase of Rs5.34bn.

There were 403,667 trades reported in 499 companies with 232 closing up, 232 closing down, and 35 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has lost 13,108 points or 7.27% during the fiscal year, whereas it has decreased 6,861 points or 3.94% so far this calendar year.
