PSX Closing Bell: Bulls Head In The Green

September 23, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Tuesday's trading session at 157,945.02, showing an increase of 390.36 points or 0.25%.

The index traded in a range of 1,414.68 points showing an intraday high of 158,831.22 (+1,276.56) and a low of 157,416.54 (-138.12) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 771.29 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 48 closed up, 51 closed down, while 1 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were BWCL (+10.00%), HGFA (+4.67%), KEL (+3.27%), ABOT (+3.11%), and TPLRF1 (+3.10%).

On the other hand, top losers were PTC (-3.68%), INIL (-3.21%), TRG (-2.99%), BOP (-2.93%), and POML (-2.89%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were UBL (+236.03pts), BWCL (+114.49pts), BAHL (+81.49pts), MARI (+66.77pts), and PSO (+60.12pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were LUCK (-91.48pts), MEBL (-46.39pts), HBL (-45.20pts), FFC (-36.64pts), and BOP (-35.48pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Commercial Banks (+114.64pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+111.61pts), Cement (+106.11pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+82.46pts), and Pharmaceuticals (+71.63pts).

While the index was let down by Fertilizer (-36.89pts), Technology & Communication (-33.54pts), Engineering (-24.07pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-18.71pts), and Glass & Ceramics (-14.63pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 50,472.84 with a net gain of 124.74 points or 0.25%.

Total market volume was 1,521.52 million shares compared to 1,665.97m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs58.73 billion showing a decrease of Rs2.18bn.

There were 506,201 trades reported in 486 companies with 195 closing up, 261 closing down, and 30 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 32,318 points or 25.73% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 42,818 points or 37.19% so far this calendar year.
