A total of 612,215 trades were reported across 496 companies, with 303 closing higher, 165 lower, and 28 remaining unchanged.
Investor sentiment remained upbeat as market participants continued to welcome the pro-business measures announced in the FY2026-27 budget, including relief in super tax, lower withholding taxes on property transactions, reduced export advance tax, and the continuation of incentives for the IT sector.
Expectations that these measures will support corporate profitability, investment activity, and economic growth helped sustain strong buying interest in heavyweight sectors.
Adding to the positive momentum, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that a preliminary agreement to end the Gulf conflict had been signed between the United States and Iran, raising hopes for a lasting peace settlement in the region.
The development eased concerns over potential disruptions to global energy supplies and strengthened investor confidence, while expectations of lower geopolitical risk and more stable oil prices supported risk appetite.
Market sentiment was further reinforced by the State Bank of Pakistan's Monetary Policy Committee decision to keep the policy rate unchanged at 11.5% during its June 15, 2026 meeting.
The decision signaled confidence in the country's improving macroeconomic outlook and provided investors with greater visibility on interest rates, supporting demand for equities, particularly in banking, energy, and cyclical sectors..
