PSX Closing Bell: A Rally Worth the Roar
MG News | November 04, 2026 at 04:07 PM GMT+05:00
November 04, 2026 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index surged on Wednesday, gaining 3,994.62 points or 2.38% to close at 172,013.48, as broad-based buying supported the market amid easing oil prices and developments surrounding the U.S. midterm elections.
Oil prices declined in early Wednesday trading as investors assessed the election outcome and its potential implications for Middle East peace negotiations.
An unexpected decline in U.S. crude inventories, however, provided some support to oil prices, tempering the decline. The softer oil environment and improving sentiment around geopolitical developments helped support risk appetite at the local bourse.
The political outcome in the United States appeared to support market sentiment, encouraging renewed buying at the Pakistan Stock Exchange. The benchmark remained in positive territory throughout the session, reflecting broad-based demand across major sectors, particularly banking, cement and fertilizer stocks.
The index remained positive throughout the session, touching an intraday high of 172,286.99, up 4,268.13 points, while its low stood at 168,355.26, still 336.40 points above the previous close. Trading volume in KSE-100 constituents reached 371.01 million shares.
