August 03, 2026 (MLN):The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) closed Monday's trading session on a strong note, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index gaining over 2,100 points as broad-based buying interest prevailed across key sectors, particularly commercial banks, cement, fertilizer, and oil & gas exploration companies.

The positive sentiment was supported by easing geopolitical concerns after US President Donald Trump said a planned military strike against Iran had been shelved, reducing fears of an immediate escalation in the Middle East.

The development also led to a retreat in oil prices in Asian trading as investors pared back risk premiums linked to potential disruptions in regional energy supplies.
