PSX Closing Bell: A Little Lift

September 30, 2026 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Wednesday's trading session at 169,969.32, showing an increase of 368.92 points or 0.22%.

The index remained positive throughout the day showing an intraday high of 171,492.52 (+1,892.12) and a low of 169,872.13 (+271.73) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 217.01 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 60 closed up, 38 closed down, while 2 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were YOUW (+7.72%), TPLRF1 (+4.31%), FATIMA (+3.14%), FHAM (+3.07%), and JVDC (+2.00%).

On the other hand, top losers were PSEL (-8.86%), SSOM (-4.30%), LOTCHEM (-3.25%), NESTLE (-2.75%), and PGLC (-2.46%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were HBL (+82.41pts), MEBL (+79.71pts), LUCK (+53.92pts), FATIMA (+50.18pts), and FFC (+45.03pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were PSEL (-108.66pts), HUBC (-44.63pts), NESTLE (-32.62pts), OGDC (-23.63pts), and PPL (-20.95pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Commercial Banks (+252.65pts), Fertilizer (+129.72pts), Cement (+88.68pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+43.15pts), and Real Estate Investment Trust (+19.68pts).

While the index was let down by Miscellaneous (-103.78pts), Food & Personal Care Products (-49.86pts), Power Generation & Distribution (-43.30pts), Chemical (-15.86pts), and Pharmaceuticals (-13.81pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 102,892.63 with a net gain of 206.38 points or 0.20%.

Total market volume was 591.23 million shares compared to 568.03m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs20.19 billion showing a decrease of Rs0.62bn.

There were 295,471 trades reported in 495 companies with 253 closing up, 195 closing down, and 47 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has lost 10,332 points or 5.73% during the fiscal year, whereas it has decreased 4,085 points or 2.35% so far this calendar year.
